For the 130th Anniversary of the Village of Larchmont (New York)

Program Notes/Il Programma
Larchmont Harbor, for small orchestra, was written and premiered in 2021 for the 130th anniversary of the Village of Larchmont in Westchester, New York. It is a period piece depicting music around the turn of the 19th century and following in the footsteps of barcaroles (boat songs) composed by Chopin and Mendelssohn. The premiere was scheduled for Constitution Park in Larchmont but moved to Kenny Hall of the Church of St. Augustine due to rain in the forecast. Following its September 2021 premiere, Larchmont Mayor Lorraine Walsh the composer by entering the autograph manuscript and published orchestral score (and parts) of Larchmont Harbor into the village’s historical archive. A copy of the score and parts have also been saved in the Village’s time capsule sealed underneath its town hall.
