Following the publication of his Ballo Delle Muse (Dance of the Muses) for violin and orchestra, Di Vittorio has published an additional four new orchestral works for 2020: Suite Verdiana (a free transcription based on five of Verdi’s most popular operas), We Have All the Time in the World (a strings arrangement of John Barry’s music from the 007 James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”), Tre Liriche, for soprano (or tenor) and orchestra (a second arrangement of Respighi’s Tre Liriche), and Arie per Enea, for mezzosoprano and orchestra (a song cycle of arias based on Virgil’s Aeneid) for the Italian mezzosoprano Alessandra Visentin.
Chamber Orchestra of New York premiered We Have All the Time in the World last season, and includes Suite Verdiana this current season. Selections of Tre Liriche, for soprano (or tenor) and orchestra will receive their world premiere recording on Decca Classics with the London Philharmonic Orchestra soon. And, Arie per Enea is being planned for a world premiere with Alessandra Visentin and an orchestra in Italy. More soon!
