On November 23, 2018, violinist Davide Alogna will present the Poland Premiere of the Respighi – Di Vittorio, Violin Concerto (in A Major) with the Orkiestra Symfoniczna Filharmonii Dolnośląskiej under conductor Massimiliano Caldera at Sala Koncertowa Filharmonia Dolnośląska in Jelena Gora, Poland. On June 27th, Davide will then return to New York to premiere Respighi’s second Violin Concerto “All’Antica” in its first printed edition by Maestro Di Vittorio under publisher Casa Ricordi, and then record the concerto with the Chamber Orchestra of New York for Naxos Records.

Di Vittorio’s Sarabanda Antica receives its world premiere with the Chamber Orchestra of New York on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall. The work was composed for the occasion of the upcoming Naxos recording featuring several of Di Vittorio’s commissioned works – including the related Sea Fanfare “On a Theme by Monteverdi” for organ and orchestra (for the San Diego Symphony). Maestro Di Vittorio shares additional insight in his latest Maestro’s Moments video.

In late September of 2018, Salvatore Di Vittorio completed his fourth program symphony (and symphonic poem) titled Sinfonia N. 4 “Metamorfosi” (Symphony No. 4 “Metamorphoses”). The work was in progress for five years before its completion, during which time other shorter works were published. The symphony, in three movements, is based Ovid’s Metamorphoses and inspired by the paintings The Triumph of Bacchus by Ciro Ferri, Venus and Adonis by Titian, and Aeneas Fleeing from Troy by Federico Barocci. The work’s finale captures the flight of Aeneas who later founds Rome, and Di Vittorio plans to dedicate the composition to Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome.

During the 2018/2019 Season, Chamber Orchestra of New York will record the symphony as part of an album of Di Vittorio’s commissioned orchestral works for Naxos Records.
